The z390 Aorus Master comes with three m.2 slots, one M2M, one M2A, and one M2P, if i buy two Samsung Evo 970 NVME m.2 SSD cards, will both fit? Only one of the M.2 slots is the exact size of the card, can i still use the other SSD in another M.2 slot and hold it in place using the heatsink. If you use only PCI-e M.2 drives, then both M2ACPU and M2PSB slots can be used without affecting the SATA ports. Otherwise, having 3 M.2 slots on the motherboard where only 1 is actually usable would've been plain stupid, useless and highly inconvenient. Another way to add a M.2 SSD to it is through a PCI adapter. However, this motherboard has only 2.0 PCI slots. The M.2 SSD is designed to perform best with 3.0 slots. Am I correct that a M.2 SSD will work in a PCI 2.0 slot? And if so, does the performance, though less than optimal, justify the upgrade, or should I invest in a new motherboard? For the most part, installing a PCIe NVMe SSD into the M.2 slot on an Intel motherboard will result in you obtaining full speed thanks to the fact that where there's PCIe M.2 SSD support, you can.

I just finished building my first gaming pc and it ran perfectly for the first week. Yesterday after work I got home and turned it on and it would not boot into windows and only boot to bios (MSI B450M Pro-VDH motherboard). After checking the bios menu it showed that my new Crucial MX500 M.2 SSD was not connected. I shut it down, removed graphics card (as the M.2 slot is just behind it) and unscrewed it and pulled it out, then replaced everything and powered it back on ( I tried this twice). Nothing still, just booted into bios and showing as nothing connected. This is weird because, just the night before I had been running the machine and playing games and now today (yesterday) would not boot? I fully powered it down the night before as I normally would any computer.
My question is this. How do I know if it's my M.2 SSD that's bad, or if it's the M.2 slot on the motherboard that is bad? Also, How would I go about erasing the data on the M.2 before returning for a refund/exchange if it's bad?
